Myths always remain on top in this world. The latest trends are full of myths and facts. Every myth tells a different story. Myths are not created on a purpose, they just arise out of latest news. One should always find out what is true and false in every case.

1. Myth : Fasting once a week can help you in removing toxins from your body
FACT : Many people who think this are not right. They are following wrong ways to become healthy. Periodic fasting habits may lead to deficiency in vital nutrients. Fasting can have a negative effect on liver too. If the liver is healthy, it can automatically cleanses toxins from our body. You not need to take extra take by fasting and choosing other bad methods. You must drink adequate water if you want to cleanse toxins from your body.
2. Myth : Eating Eggs daily can increase your Cholesterol
FACT : This is another thing that you need to know about Eggs. Like an Apple a day keeps the Doctor away. Similarly, an Egg a day keeps your heart fit and fine. If you have a normal Cholesterol, you can eat an Egg everyday.
3. Myth : Drink 8-10 glasses of water in a day
FACT : You might be wondering that what the hell I am saying now? But, it’s actually true. You must drink water when you are thirsty. The method that you can measure the adequate amount of water you need to drink in a day is just by seeing your urine color. If your urine color is dark, you need to drink more water. If not, you are doing well. Don’t ever count the number of glasses from now.
4. Myth : Having Multi-Vitamin supplements daily
FACT : You don’t need to depend upon any artificially-induced supplements for multi-vitamin diet. If you are eating according to your hunger and taking fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy products in your daily diet. Then, you don’t need to take pills for this issue.
5. Myth : Have Protein Supplements to build muscle mass
FACT : Supplements are always necessary when medically prescribed. If you are taking a balanced diet, you not need to depend on supplements for gaining mass. You can gain muscle mass just by eating boiled eggs and drinking Almond-rich milk daily. Supplements often lead to excess protein, which gets stored in body as fat. You have to workout regularly to get rid of this.
6. Myth : Eat more and more after doing exercise
FACT : If you think that you can eat as much as you want after doing exercises, then surely you will be gaining fat soon. Well, the metabolism rate is different in each person. Some don’t gain weight even without working out and eating more. And some gain weight just by eating less. But the true fact is – “An excuse to eat more under the pretext of exercising can lead to your mental illness”. You should always take necessary diet according to your body.
7. Myth : Eating Potato makes you fat
FACT : Potatoes are a source of carbohydrates and not fat. Only when had in excess, the carbohydrates transforms into fat. You should not leave eating potatoes if you want to lose weight. I used to eat boiled potatoes when I lost 50 Pounds in 5 months but in lesser quantity. Boiled potatoes provide us energy and are good source of carbohydrates too.
8. Myth : Microwave cooking is unhealthy
FACT : There are no harmful effects caused by the microwave heat. Even, microwave cooking can preserve nutrients to a great extent if you cook your food properly.
9. Myth : Brown Breads are healthy
FACT : I know that multi-grain and whole wheat breads are good but only if you actually get your hands on them. Most brown breads available in super markets are not made of 100% whole grains. All of them are made of regular refined flour with dyes that give them the deceiving appearance of whole grain.
10. Myth : Raw food is better than Cooked food
FACT : I agree that raw food do provide you with better fibre and enzymes. But, may also be a host to many bacteria and viruses if exposed for longer period. It’s a myth that cooking destroys all nutrients. Healthy cooking methods such as streaming, roasting, pressure cooking are quite beneficial. In fact, optimum cooking improves digestibility.
11. Myth : Sugar-free soft drinks are safer than regular soft drinks
FACT : Both the drinks contain harmful chemicals that lead to bone thinning. The only difference is that instead of sugar, diet soft drinks contain an artificial sweetner which is equally harmful if you drink in excess quantity.
12. Myth : All Alcohols are harmful
FACT : Well, moderate alcohol consumption is not harmful. One can safely go for beer as it contains very little alcohol. Also, wine is too beneficial for your health. You can drink Red Wine daily but in less quantity.
